What's a Mouse Race?

Live mice race down an enclosed track while the crowd cheers them on. You pick a mouse and hope yours crosses the finish line first. There are 7 races throughout the night, and the winners take home a prize and have their names added to the trophy. No experience required — just show up ready to holler for a mouse.

Do I need to know anything about mouse racing?

Not at all! It’s all about luck, cheering, and having a blast. Our professional track host will explain all the rules and guide you through the betting process before the first gate drops.

Are the mice okay?

Absolutely! Our little athletes are pampered pets who love to run. They race on custom safe-tracks, receive top-tier care, and go home to spacious, comfy habitats. Animal welfare is our absolute top priority!

Can I come alone?

Of course! Mouse racing is incredibly social. You'll make fast friends at your table. It’s a wonderful, welcoming community of race fans.

What should I wear?

While there's no strict dress code, we love seeing guests in 'Derby Casual'—think fun hats, bright colors, or your luckiest racing outfit! Casual wear is perfectly fine too.

Is dinner included?

No! Local food trucks will be on-site to provide meals and snacks for you. A cash bar is also available on-site for adult beverages.

Every Dollar Stays in Hastings

Our Place After School Care gives people with disabilities a safe, welcoming place to land when the school day ends or for the day — homework help, snacks, activities, and adults who know their names. Proceeds from Mouse Race go directly to scholarships, programming, and staffing.
