After School Care
Our Place After School Care is a pioneering organization dedicated to enriching the lives of teens with disabilities. Founded in August 2018, we established Nebraska's first after-school program tailored to this unique population, providing opportunities for socialization and the development of essential independent living skills.
3:30-5:10 p.m. @ $17 per hour
Summer Program
Our Place After School Care exists to empower teens with disabilities by providing a nurturing environment where they can learn essential life skills, develop independence, foster social connections, and explore their creative potential, ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life and promoting inclusion within the community.
7:45 a.m.-5:10 p.m. @ $17 per hour
Day Support
We provide day service programming for adults 21+ at an affordable cost. To reach this goal, we have a sliding fee based on your taxable income. For more information, contact the Executive Director.
Freedom Factory
In November 2022, we expanded our services to include Freedom Factory, a store where teens can sell their handcrafted items on a commission basis, fostering a sense of accomplishment and financial independence. Driven by a mother's vision to create a supportive and empowering environment for her own daughter and others, Our Place continues to lead the way in providing vital services that empower teens with disabilities to thrive.

07/2017
Our Place idea was born in the basement of Faith Lutheran Church with a group of three families, a few volunteers, a couple of days a week, and a classroom.
08/2017
Our Place was incorporated into a business. The first version of the website is up.
05/2019
Our Place becomes a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
07/2020
Our Place hires its first two teachers!
06/2022
Our Place becomes a Recognized Service Organization of the LCMS.
11/2022
Our Place moves from Faith Lutheran Church to 1117 East South Street.
03/2023
Our Place Website Undergoes Revision.
05/2024
LWML Grant “Growing Our Place: Care for Special Needs Students – Our Place After School Care, Inc., Nebraska” $20,000
