Building a Safer Community Through After School Care

Teenagers need to learn skills, have friends and keep busy. We worry about teenagers, especially after school, who might get into mischief or endanger themselves because they do not have activities. Our community created a program because they need expensive skilled attention that is not available. When parents of a teen with special needs cannot afford to employ skilled help, these teens are often left unattended for hours at a time. They often do not have the skills or the know-how to occupy themselves or keep themselves safe while alone. They can fall victim to accidents or go where they should not be in the community.
